Cresswood Traveler x Banbury Evita
Cresswood Eytano represents the pinnacle of Lucy Cress'
(Cresswood Stables) Banbury-line breeding program, which was
based on Banbury Luther, 1987 National AAHA Champion Halter and
Performance Andalusian, English Pleasure, Western Pleasure,
Dressage Suitability, and Hunter Under Saddle, judged by Dr. J.
Oehlha, director of the Spanish Riding School in Austria.

Her breeding goal was to produce an Andalusian suitable for open
dressage competition without losing the unique Baroque type
exemplified by the old Terry lines, i.e., the Carthusian. In pursuit of
that goal, she purchased Banbury Evita (Octobre x Eslava), one of
the most important mares imported to this country (Andalusian
Magazine).

Cresswood Eytano, heavily infused with line-breeding back to the
famed Champion of Spain (1964), Capitan XIII, has kept his traditional
Baroque morphology, yet has the reach and extension so prized in
the modern show ring.

He has been presented in hand at local dressage schooling shows.
A German-trained judge awarded him 76% at 4 years old, with 8 for
walk and 8 for trot, commenting "handsome horse, very good
shoulder, kind, intelligent eye."  An American judge in training
awarded 77% with scores of 8 for conformation and 8 for general
impression. Other judges' comments include "stride is fluid."

An endurance veterinarian/chiropractor commented on seeing him for
the first time, "He has the most perfect front end I have ever seen on
a horse!"  Indeed, he has perfect balance and alignment, substantial
bone and has never needed shoes, in spite of doing trail work in the
rocky Appalachian foothills.
