Cresswood Eytano x Dancing Sky Duende

Sire Pedigree                   Dam Pedigree
"Vida" is our lovely 2-year old chestnut (currently rose gray)
Spanish filly.  Her bloodlines have been carefully chosen to
reproduce an ideal baroque horse for the dressage ring and she
is showing every sign of fulfilling that promise.  Her haunch
angulation is superb, providing a powerful drive train for
collection in true self carriage.  From her dam, she has the
famous Leviton reaching trot and a lovely, balanced canter.  Her
walk is well forward, covering the ground nicely.  At 2, she is
over 14.0 hands.  Through her sire, the influence of Leopardo,
Bilbaino III and the pure Carthusian blood of Capitan XIII show in
her classic baroque type, elegant top line and superb front end.
She has inherited not only her sire's superb bone and excellent
feet, but also his Carthusian "silver sheen" coat as she grays.

She has been handled since birth with an eye to future classical
dressage training.  She has been very lightly imprinted, which
leaves her very content with face, ears, and feet being handled.
She is happy to lift each foot in response to a touch with the
whip, which is the preparation for piaffe training far in the future.
She is also happy to offer 1 to 2 steps laterally, easily crossing
over hind feet in response to a gentle touch of fingers to ribs in
what will eventually become a turn on the forehand.  She has
been schooled lightly for in-hand presentation and easily walks
and trots in hand, halting from the handler's body position and
backing easily.  Although she has not been longed, it is quite
clear that she understands how and will be more then willing
when she is a little older.  She has followed her mother on the
longe line since birth and it is quite clear she has learned by
watching.
This same handling will also benefit other disciplines.  With her
excellent conformation, she will be quite talented at jumping, and
in fact jumps cavelletti for fun in the paddock when playing,
which shouldn't be a suprise, as these bloodlines also produced
Banbury Brio, who excelled at eventing throughout his long
career.

Her temperament is superb, with great brio.  She is a very
forward-thinking horse, yet even at her most excited can be
easily handled with a gentle hand and cotton rope.  She is the
proverbial "pocket pony" who will walk away from breakfast to
come visit with you or follow you around the field.  She wants to
work, wants attention, and tries to push in during her dam's work
sessions.  She has been Endo-tapped extensively; a gentle,
rhythmic tapping "massage" which promotes relaxation and
functions as a cue to lower the head, providing a built in
relaxation technique.
Because we are a small farm and weaning can be an issue in
these circumstances, she has had a careful turnout schedule so
she is accustomed to going out alone, staying in alone, or being
in or out next to her sire rather than her dam.  She also ties and
cross-ties.

She is a graying chestnut (e/e A/a), currently a lovely rose gray
which will eventually fade to pure white.  Her color comes to her
from her dam line, through the famous de la Parra stallion,
Dejado (Black), who was schooled to the high school and
photographed repeatedly by Robert Vavra. She has a 50/50
chance of producing color (bay, black, chestnut) when bred to a
color stallion.
