Andaluz de Arion

              About Us
Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in
West-Central Pennsylvania, Andaluz de Arion is located
in the heart of Amish country. In this rural community,
horses are still a way of life. Horses and buggies travel
these roads on a daily basis and life moves a little more
slowly than it does in the outside world.

In this idyllic environment for horses and people, Arion is
dedicated to producing just a few very fine Spanish
Andalusian Horses. Our breeding program is based on
the stallion, Cresswood Eytano (Cresswood Traveler x
Banbury Evita), bred by Lucy Cress of Cresswood
Stables from pure Banbury stock.

Our goal is to produce a few superb modern dressage
Andalusians without losing the old Baroque type or
gaining excessive size. The Capitan XIII/Leviton nick has
produced stunning movement for the modern dressage
competition and we have carefully chosen our mare line
to reproduce this winning combination,
the "classical"
horse, close coupled, athletic, proud, and of a most tractable
temperament.

We are dedicated to preserving in small part the Baroque
Spanish Horse, the horse deemed "the lovingest and
gentlest horse and fitingest of all for a King to ride in a
day of triumph" (Duke of Newcastle 1667).
